There are 3 membership categories, and they're all important!

  • Youth Member ($10/yr)
  • Supporting Adult Member ($20/yr)
  • Partner Organization ($25-100/yr, depending on the size of the organization—see details on form)

Youth members

  • make new friends who share your passion for birds!
  • go on young birder field trips and other events throughout New York State.
  • join in on bird counts and other birding projects with other young birders.
  • contribute to and get NYSYBC's quarterly newsletter.
  • get photos and writings published on this website.
  • voice your ideas to help shape NYSYBC.

Supporting Adult Members

  • support an important project and a worthy cause.
  • enjoy the satisfaction of helping young people grow into tomorrow's birding leaders, ornithologists, and stewards of the environment.
  • have the opportunity to help NYSYBC with transportation or other needs.
  • receive NYSYBC's quarterly newsletter.

Partner Organizations

Join our growing list of Partner Organizations!

  • support an important project and a worthy cause.
  • enjoy the satisfaction of helping young people grow into tomorrow's birding leaders, ornithologists, and stewards of the environment.
  • have the opportunity to help NYSYBC with transportation or other needs.
  • receive NYSYBC's quarterly newsletter.
  • sponsor and lead one NYSYBC field trip per year, if asked to do so by NYSYBC.
  • have the opportunity to attract local young people into their own ranks by publicizing their partnership with NYSYBC and associated events.

Note: NYSYBC Partner Organizations must also be Member Clubs/Organizations of NYSOA, the parent organization of NYSYBC.

Birding and nature-oriented organizations can learn more about NYSYBC and the benefits of Partner Organization membership by requesting a 30-minute presentation to be made at their membership or board meetings. BECOME A CHARTER MEMBER NOW!

Join by December 15, 2008 and become a Charter Member!  Your membership will begin as soon as we receive your application and payment and will continue through December 31, 2009.

  • Youth and Supporting Adult Members who join by December 15, 2008 will receive a membership card identifying them as Charter Members.
     
  • Partner Organizations that join by December 15, 2008 will be identified as Charter Partners of the New York State Young Birders Club on both this website and the NYSOA website.
